How we count

  • Jobs we tracked, not the whole market. These are the postings RemoteJob.bot collected for its channels, so the numbers grow as we add sources.
  • Fully remote, open to the US. The posting has to say the role is remote and be open to candidates in the United States. Hybrid and on-site roles are left out of the job counts; the salary tables show them separately.
  • Each job once. The same job found in several places, listed in several cities, or reposted within 30 days counts as one.
  • The last 30 days, by posting date. The figures cover the 30 full days (UTC) before the date at the top and are recomputed daily. Changes compare them with the 30 days before that.
  • Salaries as posted, made comparable. Hourly pay is converted to a year of 2,080 hours, a range counts as its midpoint, and non-USD pay is left out.
  • Levels on the job board's scale. Junior is entry level, mid is associate (about 2 to 5 years), senior is mid-senior (5 years or more). Where we analyse the description, the level comes from it; otherwise from the board's own label. Director and executive roles are left out.
